Network Doctor Reduces Manual Work with Phin’s Automated Training

Network Doctor needed a more efficient way to deliver and manage security awareness training for clients without constant manual oversight. Their previous solutions, like KnowBe4 and Proofpoint’s Wombat, required repeated setup and frequent adjustments, consuming valuable time.

Phin Security’s automated, “set it and forget it” approach allowed Network Doctor to streamline training management, reduce repetitive work, and provide clients with consistent, easy-to-understand reporting. As a result, the platform helped them simplify operations while maintaining strong visibility into client progress and training completion rates.

Why Network Doctor chose Phin Security for SAT

“Phin is one of the better options because you’re able to go in, set it, and you don’t have to manage it past the initial setup." - Adam Levin

The team chose Phin because of its automation, simplicity, and efficiency. Phin stood out for its true “set it and forget it” capability, allowing MSPs to schedule and manage campaigns that run continuously without manual input. Compared to other vendors, Phin required less hands-on work after setup, freeing the team to focus on other security priorities.

The short, five-minute training videos and automatic reporting features made Phin ideal for delivering consistent, high-quality security education to clients with minimal administrative effort.

Challenges

  • Required manual setup for each monthly campaign.
  • No true automation, forcing constant oversight and maintenance.
  • Scheduling limitations and lack of flexibility in campaign timing.
  • Cumbersome user management, including manually turning off groups or cleaning duplicate accounts.
  • Inefficient onboarding, particularly for multi-tenant environments or clients with complex structures.
  • Reporting inconsistencies, such as monthly and yearly completion rates displaying inaccurately.

Phin's Solution

Phin Security provides Network Doctor with a platform purpose-built for MSP efficiency, automating training and phishing simulations end-to-end. Its “set it and forget it” functionality allows campaigns to run continuously after initial setup, drastically cutting the time needed for maintenance.

Phin’s clean interface makes onboarding clients fast — typically within five to ten minutes — while automatic report generation provides clear insights into client engagement and progress. The ability to manage campaigns and users through a simple MSP portal also gives Network Doctor centralized visibility and reduced administrative friction.

Overall, Phin transforms what used to be a repetitive, manual process into a smooth, scalable system that delivers consistent results.

Features, Updates or Changes Network Doctor Wants to See

Network Doctor’s suggested enhancements to the wizard setup process, such as better scheduling flexibility, the ability to select or “sleep” all groups at once, and minor fixes to reporting bugs that occasionally caused metrics to reset or display incorrect values. Additionally, they expressed interest in Google Workspace integration to streamline onboarding for non-Microsoft clients.

All of these improvements have been implemented since this interview.
